Add these words to the back of the Thylakoid coloring worksheet.

1. Chlorophyll is a pigment protein in the phospholipid bilayer of the thylakoid membrane.

2. Chlorophyll absorbs blue light and splits water into hydrogen ions and oxygen gas.

3. The electrons from water travel through the electron transport chain proteins and pump hydrogen ions into the lumen.

4. These electrons combine with a hydrogen ion to recharge NADP+ into NADPH.

5. Hydrogen ions from the lumen pass through ATP synthase in order to recharge ADP into ATP.
